Alvin C. Jacobs Jr. has emerged on the scene as one of the area’s premier photographers. Alvin spent time honing his craft in Chicago, IL via work as a freelancer and brief training at the Art Institute of Charlotte upon his relocation.
When in between Charlotte and Chicago, he often collaborates within the local creative circuit to produce lifestyle, fashion, editorial and wedding projects.
In 2014, after the death of teen-aged Trayvon Martin in Sanford, FL, Jacobs answered the social justice call-to-action to document the events that followed. Traveling to Ferguson, and subsequently to Baltimore, MD, Brooklyn, New York and other hotbeds of sociopolitical unrest, he has since captured and chronicled critical moments of many social justice movements, photo-journalist under the creative collective moniker [To Speak No Evil].
Having amassed over six years of professional experience, Alvin specializes in wedding, social documentary, portraits, editorial, landscape and fashion photo-graphic projects. His distinctive aesthetic is marked by a propensity towards highlighting stark contrast and in dealing in the black & white – both in photography and in the world.
